Overall, a wonderful adaptation from the computer game. One of my favorite games ever. I do need two QoL fixes, though. First, with the master volume level set to zero, it remembers that setting on restart, but it still plays the "boop" sound when the Mega Crit logo appears. I would prefer that when playing with no sound, it should relaunch with no sound. Second, on a small screen, I keep picking the wrong thing. Just some extra protection there, esp. where you can't take a choice back.

The core gameplay is a 10/10 it is exceptionally balanced and fun. However the one thing you do most in the game (interact with and select cards) is not ported well for touch. It's easy to see this was initially designed for a mouse cursor but it translates to an inconsistent feel for selecting cards, trying to read them, place them down etc. Many players may not care much or be bothered but I found it to be a frustrating oversight to really refine the interaction behavior with the interface.

2024 edit #2: SAVE SYNCING STILL BROKEN, BEWARE! I uninstalled the game and installed it again, and my saves were not restored. Lost all progress ☹️ dropped it back down to 2 stars 2024 edit: they fixed the long-running issue with saves not syncing. everything is working smoothly now! Updated the review stars to 5 original: The game itself is excellent, but the Android port has major issues with the save syncing. I lost all of my progress and cannot restore it even after talking to support.

Slay the Spire is very good, and this is a faithful port. A little too faithful in my opinion, as it hasn't been adjusted for mobile devices. Almost everything, especially text, is too small. On a normal computer screen it's fine, but phones are smaller. And there is no option to make it bigger. Looking through cards is also very awkward, as there's only one method of input instead of the three or four a mouse offers. Fixing these issues will earn a 5 star from me.

This is the best deck-builder out there, and the mobile version is just about as perfect as the PC version. This is also one of the best Rouge-likes out there. It's one of the first times I liked the game enough to try and beat the higher difficulties (Ascensions) you can unlock with each character. If you ever feel like you've run out of content (which is incredibly hard to do) you can always get the PC version and play the with hundreds of mods (or just Downfall, that's the best one by far)

The mobile version ALMOST runs issue free. I'd consider it a great port were it not for one, crucial, infuriating bug. Twice in one day, I "unlocked" Ascension lvl 14 for the Ironclad, only to reach the title screen and find it didn't actually unlock. Twice in one day. Check around the internet and you'll find this is a common story. Won't be putting anymore play time into the app given that it's a coin toss whether or not my progress will be wasted. Avoid. Play on PC or console.

Great Indie Game Port to Mobile! I heard many good things about this game, but since I was travelling, I couldn't buy it on my PC. I bought it for my phone and I was amazed by how good the port is. The card action is excellent on mobile, perhaps even better than with a mouse. There are no ads and no in-app purchases - only game. The only downside is that the text may be hard to read on smaller screens, so maybe the developer could fix that. No other downsides :)

I'm not usually into deck builders, or turn-based action, but I fell in love with this game. I find it so addicting to try just one more run. You collect cards to use against enemies and pick your path. All the PCs have different cards & different strats to use. It's really fun to find unique synergies & treasures. I haven't beat it yet, it's quite difficult. Wish there more ways to restore HP/watch ad to revive option. Well-polished game that's not intimidating like many deck builders!

It's a great game, beat it a few times on PC and decided to buy a Mobile Version. Feels good but it's missing a feature to look at the upgrade on reward cards and choosing a card to play feels way too clunky and terrible. Other than that, solid game. Edit: Also, it has really arcadey controls which are really stupid, it chooses a card for you and if you missclick you will use it right away, or if you click on a card, the same. also it's hard to click on a card next to a chosen card.

Aug 2024: App is extremely well optimized now, great job on fixing it Sometime in 2023: Spent hundreds of hours in this game. Very addictive. However all the latest updates make want to play less. Most obvious - now objects on the map is much smaller, god knows why. And most importantly - constant crashes if you switch active app and keep StS in the background or just lock the hone for a second. Plus often crashes upon death, looks like it's trying to connect with the server and freezes

This game is awesome but the mobile interface is hot garbage. CONSTANT misclicks even after playing the game for weeks. Many things require confirmation by default, which solves a lot of this, but you can accidentally select a card while scrolling a list, which is just stupid and almost always results in selecting a card you didn't want. Also why isn't a long press just the same as PC right click? I don't have every card upgrade memorized, I'd like that info when choosing a card like on PC.
